Day 7

Day 7 — Apply your skills and create a final piece

Draw small subjects and finish with a detailed illustration using all techniques together. (The second part of this lesson is available as a free preview)

We begin with the basics: understanding your tools, choosing the right materials, and building control through simple line exercises.

Then we move into textures, shading, and mark-making, learning how to create depth and volume using lines alone.

Step by step, you’ll apply these techniques to real objects, patterns, and compositions — gradually turning simple shapes into expressive sketches.

To make the process easier, some lessons include printable PDF templates — so you don’t have to draw grids or layouts by hand and can focus fully on the exercise.

By the end of the course, you will not only understand how to use line, texture, and shading… but also create drawings that feel clean, confident, and complete.

In this course, you can choose the personal feedback option if you want more guidance, support, and confidence as you learn.

How it works

After each lesson, you upload your work on the platform.
A dedicated instructor reviews it and sends you clear, detailed feedback:

  • what already works well
  • what to improve next
  • where to focus your attention
  • practical tips and answers to your questions

You receive comments you can apply immediately — so you always know what to fix, what to keep, and how to level up.

This feedback helps you notice mistakes faster, stay motivated, and keep moving forward with more confidence.

Not just correction - thoughtful guidance, careful feedback and steady progress.

You don’t need expensive supplies or a long shopping list.

There is a minimal set of materials, and it’s easy to replace with what you already have.

  • A sketchbook or simple paper
  • One or two fineliners, for example Micron 0.2 mm & 0.8 mm
  • Optional sticky notes, markers, or colored paper for accents

How does feedback work?

  • All lessons are pre-recorded video lessons. You can watch them anytime and as many times as you need during your course access.
  • Most lessons include practical assignments. You complete the task, take a photo of your work, and upload it to the platform.

  • If your course option includes personal feedback, an instructor reviews your work and gives clear, practical recommendations: what to improve, what to focus on next, and answers to your questions. The task is approved or sent back for revision.

  • If your course does not include feedback, you still upload your work, track your progress, and stay actively involved in the learning process.
